Default Anyone purchased anything from overseas?

I have bought stuff from China, Japan, Taiwan before, but it has always been through eBay or some other auction site.

I found a seller on eBay and he offered me a bulk item discount, but just wants me to paypal the money instead of setting up an auction and losing 4% of the sale to eBay.

Has anyone bought stuff from an eBay (or suchlike vendor) outside of the venue and had any problems?

I will most likely use PayPal but put it on my American Express (problem-free member for 10 years)...so if things go to $*#^ then I can at least do a charge-back.

Just looking for input. I'm buying $800 worth of product...so it's a large chunk of my income tax return, and the benefits of this deal(if it's legit and works out) are definitely worth it!

That seems fishy. I would avoid that. I guess it all depends on seller feedback if you really want to do it.

Yeah, it would seem fishy if he had offered it to me, I but I did seek him out and ask him.

Oh well, I guess my AMEX is either going to get a work out or will sit quietly

if they have really good feedback.......sometimes if you interested in bulk items the seller will offer and outside deal just as you said cause of ebay fees and such but it is against ebay rules to do that but then again ppl do that...but if you are going through with the deal defentialy use paypal and a good good credit like american express just in case if something does happen..

Awesome man, thanks for the input.

Yeah, his feedback is great. This is the link to it if you want to see it:

100% and everyone is happy with his product...so I am going to give it a shot.

i sell things on ebay often and have had people contact me to buy larger quantities.
rather then set up an auction and get nailed with a fee since it costs more, they usually just ask me to send them an invoice using paypal, then they have receipt and everything.
