How's it goin everyone? Been reading these forums for a while now, finally got my car. Just picked up a new SW 2010 5 speed on Tuesday. I am having a local dealer install the Scion Security system tomorrow morning. Currently my car beeps when locking and unlocking with the remote. Will the beep still function the same with security system?

 

Should stay the same to my knowledge.

 

The 2010 models beep now??? LUCKY!!! I gotta go see if they can make my 08 beep....

 

my 09 beeps when i press the button on the remote to open the doors or close them.

Hey man... I think we got ripped off with our 08s... mine doesn't have an audio-able beep when lock/unlock with the remote

 

My xB beeps as far as I know. '08.

 

dont think that makes a difference... they both use the same system.

 

It does. Well thats what the dealer told me. Still havn't came across a tc that beeps

 

My '10 beeped with the stock remote system. It now does a chirp from the aftermarket (Autopage) alarm horn. The one nice thing about the aftermarket unit (besides costing 50% less and does more) is that it automatically locks the doors when I start the engine. Very nice to have. Oh, and I use the remote with a spare key I had made that does NOT have the Scion logo. I know, I know, it's heresy, but after a friend had her car stolen when she lost her keys at a shopping center, I became a little more careful. The perp went looking for a Ford and just kept pressing the remote. One less clue to what kind of car I have gives me a little more comfort.

Good news on my friend's car: while driving out to see the whales at Makapuu Lighthouse, I saw her car pass me and I called the police in. 20 minutes later, the guy was busted and an hour later she drove up with a friend to recover her car. This guy was a quart low: he left all her stuff IN the car! Sadly, still never got a date with her...
