VRD Grilles Installed
For Reference, I ordered these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=200444500818
From this seller: http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/d5_concepts/
After discussion here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=181471
Here's a few pics guys... after a few other thoughts.
Fit: Pretty good. Not 100% perfect but at least 95%. The sides of the top grille have a couple mm gaps on the sides - but they really aren't very noticeable. I really don't think they're that bad. The lower grille seems to fit OK. I had to take the bumper off to get it in there tight on all of the clips though. Thankfully that only takes about 3 minutes with all of my splash guards gone.
Quality: Seems nice to me. Very solid plastic. I don't think they're brittle or anything though b/c I had a set of pliers on the bottom trying to pull it into place (before taking the bumper off) and no sign of anything bad after that.
Overall: A-
Points deducted for top grille gaps (very minor) and tightness of bottom grille fit (though sort of a good thing).
PICS!

Crappy pics at the moment b/c it's crappy outside and was starting to get dark.
Also worth noting... I apparently drilled too far out for the FIG grilles I had on the bottom b/c you can see the holes. I really don't care though. They're not incredibly noticeable unless you're looking for them and I may replace the bumper eventually anyway.

Ya, they're eBay (link is at the top to the seller I ordered from). I confirmed with him first that they were actual VRDs. He claimed they were, so I ordered.
yeahh alot of them now claim it. did it come in a black box?? thats how VRD use to sell them in. they look good and fitment is pretty good compared to other grills on ebay. i ended up just throwing an 08 bottom with the vrd top
No black box actually. I do remember reading that... like I said, he claimed they were VRD - but really most sellers have no idea WTF they're selling anyway. So who knows. Regardless, I'm pretty satisfied.
Oh, um... if anyone is interested, I'm selling a set of flat black FIG grilles.

man i bought these VRD from ebay too...the upper part fit juz fine but the lower part no matter how hard i tried to push it...it juz didnt wanna to get in. idk why?
maybe cuz of my ground effects kit ??? i still havent installed my lower part yet

I removed the bumper and laid it face down on my floor and pressed the grille down into it along the outside edges.
I recently picked up a set for mine back in December...and the fitment looks great now that they're in. But the Top I had to do a couple very minor modifications to, to get the fitment dead on. No biggie... and definitely pleased with the end result.
I would say that if it is popping out at all, it probably wasn't in complete. Like I said, mine lower one went in quite hard even after taking the bumper off. But eventually all of the clips grabbed and it isn't going anywhere that I can tell. So if someone's popped out, it may not have been securely in there. Hard to say though.
