Anyone change their horn? What did you buy? Are you happy with it? Simple install I presume? Thanks.

I went with a pair of Fiamm Highway Blasters and I like the horns a lot, they were $40 for the high/low pair at a local Pep Boys. They don't seem as loud as their 130db rating (more like a Cadillac), but they're a heck of a lot louder than the OEM beep beep horns. They use the stock horn wiring, but you will need to get a little creative to bend up some custom mounting brackets.

Front view so that you can see the direction that I pointed the trumpets so they would clear the grill. I can't remember which horn (high or low) is on which side, but when you have the horns in hand they only mount one way for this clearance to work.

These next two pics are just so you can see that there really isn't much more than about 1/8" of extra clearance, even after all the modding & adjusting I did.

Here is the driver side top view. You will note the creative bending of the bracket. I had to screw the bracket to the horn first, due to clearance issues, then screw the mounting bracket to the car.

Here is the passenger side top view. On this side I used the shorter of the stock horn brackets for mounting. It points straight downward, and is mounted on the backside of the threaded mounting nut, with the screw reversed so that it screws in from the backside. Otherwise the horn won't clear the grill.

That should all help you avoid the 2 hours of trial & error, and multiple screwing, unscrewing, & rescrewing that I went through to get everything pointed in the right direction, and far enough from the back of the grill, so that it all clears.

I seriously doubt you guys have ever been in front of the xB2 horns when they've fired, far from wimpy. They're easily louder than my Eclipse dual horns and are loud enough to fire its security system. They may be less powerful than a deisel locomotive or eighteen wheeler tractor, but relative to other OE cars, I really don't think so.

I had installed a Harley Davidson horn on my tC. Really was an attention getter. I could only install 1 of the 2 that I bought without using a relay. The stock Scion wiring does not support much current draw on the horn wiring.
