I just received an email from Power Enterprise about a new product that will interest some: www.powerenterpriseusa.net The unit is a Toyota VVTi controller that works in conjunction with your stock ECU.

I'm old school don't really know all the benefits of this item, so if anyone with any techincal expertise can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it. I understand the basic idea here - to override your stock ECU, but how much does one think can be gained from a product like this in conjunction with a CAI, exhaust, & header? What's it worth?

Thanks all,

David -

ooo, i like, that could help get the most out of the power enterprise supercharger kit............ what else does it do, thats a fuel managment system correct>?

As far as I can tell......no, it's not a fuel management system. It is a system that allows YOU to manually control the VVTi (variable valve timing).....basically overriding the ECU that would otherwise do it for you. That's just my understanding.

Isn't VVTi variable across the entire RPM range? What does this do exactly?

OK, I just got a reply from Power Enterprise. For simplicity I will just post the exchange of email:

Thanks for the info. Sorry your supercharger will not work on the XA, I've heard nothing but praise for it. Guess I'll have to look at the Blitz (my appologies). About this CamCon unit: Is this something I could expect to use on my XA? Sorry, but I have to plead ignorance about these things, old school, you know? What kind of gains could I expect to see with my current set-up: AEM intake, TRD exhaust, Alphawerks header? And/or, with the addition of a Blitz SC? Lastly, what kind of price range are we talking about?

I'm not looking to extract every last ounce of power out of this thing - been there, done that. I'm just looking for reliable gains in HP to keep this thing fun to drive. If I could get enough out of your CamCon unit, I might just pass on the Blitz.

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

David -

Hi David,

It all depends on whether you are looking to go forced induction or all motor. If you want major horsepower gains and do not mind going turbo/super charged then that is the way you will get the most power out of your car. If you do want to keep the car N/A just for reliability or you would just rather have the N/A feel and response then the CamCon would be a great addition to what you currently have on your vehicle. The unit has not been released at the present however using our working test model we have seen 9~11 hp gains on a stock Celica GT-S and a great torque bump on the bottom end of the power band. We are aiming the price to be competitive with the A’PEX V-AFC unit.

Here's a little more updated info:

Hello David,

The CamCon unit will be spliced into your existing wire harness for your ECU. For the best results you would need to Dyno tune the car and find out what settings are best for your applications. The simplest way is to run the car various degrees of cam timing and overlap the dyno sheets and plot your ideal numbers throughout the RPM. An example would be to run the car with the cam timing at -5 degrees throughout the entire RPM range and then again at 0 degrees, +5 degrees. You would then have a chart of what power the car made at what RPM for those 3 degrees of timing. Overlay the charts and you can see where the greatest gains of power were on any given RPM and at which degree of timing. Plot those numbers into the CamCon unit and the setting would be complete. To get the maximum amount of power you can take advantage of the air/fuel setting built into the CamCon unit to match the fuel to the newly found power you would gain.

I know you are able to manipulate de fuel mix with the unit but ......do what benefits do I get from bigger fuel pump and injectors on a non turbo car...... I mean the car has its limits, it;s not about floading everyding with gas.....jajaja

hey Dghotlava...... what kind of injectors and fuel pump do you have ? and where can I find a flywheel ????? is it the jun flywheel?
