View Full Version : Turning off Slip Indicator Warning Beep? Know How koreysbox 02-21-2005, 04:14 AM All those of you who like to rail turns, have you figured a way to turn off the vehicle warning beep on the "Slip Indicator or Vehicle Stability Control? system???? TXboxdriver 02-21-2005, 02:28 PM if you have automatic, i haven't found a way, even hitting the button i have still driven hard enough to make it interfere i have heard manuals don't have this problem sorry 02-21-2005, 04:22 PM even if you turn the trac off, the beep still comes on? I didn't know that, and I have tried. I guess I never hear it because of the stereo. :D hotbox05 02-21-2005, 09:58 PM Trac is seperate from vsc. The vsc still remains active even if the trac is turned off. heme11 02-23-2005, 07:34 AM beep? on mine the light comes on but I have never heard an audible sound. slyXB 02-23-2005, 07:47 AM yeah man when i first put the bags on the car, that thing went nuts everytime i would move the wheel!!!!! it shakes the car to slow down and makes a loud anoying beep! i have a stick and that has happened to me......the manual doesnt say more than a sentance about it djct_watt 02-23-2005, 08:05 AM Heck. . . there might be a way to disable it completely if you wanted to. . . maybe by killing a fuse or something. I dunno, I have neither VSC nor TRAC. hotbox05 02-23-2005, 09:29 AM Look up some posts but LEED , he posted in the driving techniques area about disabling the vsc. The light Blinks first and if you continue to lose traction and or drive crazily the car will start to beep at you. The0ckid82 02-23-2005, 10:07 AM my light comes on all the time but i have never heard a beep ..... and yes purposely try to make the light come on lol and as for disableing it i dont know that that would be a good idea seeing as when i had a problem with it (i actually shorted out out the computer and disabled the vsc and trac control but the problem with that is the computer then limits your engine to no more than 3000 rpm ... meaning you cant rev higher than that ... now i dont know if thats what will happen if you pull the fuse or some how disable it but thats what happened to me when i disabled it on mine by accident lol hotbox05 02-23-2005, 11:02 AM When disabled "on purpose" you CAN rev higher than 3000 RPM. koreysbox 02-24-2005, 02:44 AM Well, after I put lowering springs on my car I can't get it to beep anymore...so it solved the problem...but really annoying when your driving, don't mind the light but the beeping is stupid. Thanks for the replies! unlmtdndeavor 02-24-2005, 03:19 AM Heck. . . there might be a way to disable it completely if you wanted to. . . maybe by killing a fuse or something. I dunno, I have neither VSC nor TRAC. how do you not have either. its a stock feature. Thanks for the replies! wow really...i lowered my car, have 19's on it with 225/35/19 and hotchkis sway bars and mines still beeps whenever i push it hard..mind it that i drive really hard and like to slolom between light poles in parking lots 8) hotbox05 02-24-2005, 04:01 AM Heck. . . there might be a way to disable it completely if you wanted to. . . maybe by killing a fuse or something. IT IS NOT STOCK WITH XA'S! Kinda like how xB's have tint too, and we don't. We get cargo covers stock, and a glowing "ez bake oven," but you guys get seats that recline completely flat (even though there is enough room to clear the rear seats, we don't get that feature)! hotbox05 02-24-2005, 09:46 AM YES, THANK YOU! Stability control? Traction control? Pfft......... that's my DRIFT ALARM!!!! TXboxdriver 02-25-2005, 09:44 PM :silly: that's great!! kevsXB 06-12-2007, 11:48 PM my slip indicator comes on all the time if i turn but i dont make hard turns at all what could the problem be???? bB384 06-13-2007, 07:11 PM I have two solutions. The cheap way is to remove the fuse, or another component. Myself I disable the Yaw Rate sensor under the center console next to the shifter, that disables the ABS, Trac, and VSC, Just be careful you wil not have anything to save your @$$ if you make a mistake. The other solution is to get some really sticky tires like Falken Azenis RT-615, Toyo RA-1, or any other sticky tire. kevsXB 06-14-2007, 05:23 PM i have 17x 7.5 in the front and 17x8.5 in the rear what kind of tires should i go with? could i have some sensor problem then?? low_down_xb 06-14-2007, 08:37 PM why not just cut the wires in the fuse block for it and wire in a switch, so for the most part it will be on but when you want to disable it just flip the switch, then you can have the best of both worlds, thats what i plan on doing with mine kevsXB 06-15-2007, 07:29 AM my slip indicator light comes on and it goes beep beep and my car shudders shakes and brakes took it to my mechanic for a diagnostic check the problem was my steering angle sensor |
