Took the trans apart to find 5th destroyed...looking for any suggestions to help make the trans stronger so this does not keep happening...anything besides for cryo and REM treatment...some pics of the gears...

oh snap, I know the fifth gear section is separate from the rest, but there are some oil galleys that go through. How's the rest of the tranny? And how the heck did u manage to do that? By looking at the twin disc clutch, it seems like it might be too much power huh :-)

^^ haha yea maybe a lil too much power...and the rest of the trans is shot too...stripped 4th and the counter...metal pieces are everywhere...

what is your whp? I have a trans sitting in my room right now waiting for a build but i am in the same boat as you. Cryo treated is the only thing i can find also. I am interested to see where this thread goes. I need to get this trans built lol.

^ slightly over 400...hopefully someone can provide a built trans for the tc...i know some companies are looking into it right now ill let you know if i hear anything

and i was just passing a car in 5th on the highway rather than dropping to 4th and it went...but i guess i did that a few times and after a while it just cant hold up...

when I took it apart there was a lot of play in the counter...could be the issue...going to shim the next one to be as tight as possible and try to preload it a lil bit
