Anyone else notice how non-linear the go-pedal is.
This is a tactic the Japanese cars came up with years ago.
When you apply say 20% throttle, you are actually getting more like 60%.
It gives the illusion of a more powerful car. I find the xD drive by wire system
to be very touchy. I have to use restraint on the pedal to take off easy.
Not a problem.. just takes some getting used to..
I do like the low end torque on this little motor.. The variable vale timing system is pretty seamless.. Not like Honda's VTEC which is more binary in nature.. Good stuff..

The "Electric" thingies flow in the WIRE,
Thus, Drive-By-Wire....

The throttle drives me nuts on a daily basis. It just doesn't respond the same as if there were a cable. I find it real hard to sequence my shifting especially from 1st to 2nd. It's even worse with the a/c compressor running because of the faster spin-down. Trying to feather gas/clutch in reverse is even touchier. I've gotten mostly used to it but it's still a pain.

sorry, but usually when someone refers to drive by wire, i thought that was the "aircraft cable" that was an actual "pull" on the motor to accelerate it. you know, the old style before electronic?

i notice the same thing. starting from a stop really causes the engine to buzz. makes it a good city car.

That is one of the reasons I went with the auto over the 5 speed. That and MPG wise they are actually very close together.

I am not sure but would think the Adjustable Throttle Controller thats i see in another thread should help with the tip in.
