2004 xA (Automatic) engine hesitation and throttle body calibration issues?
So I am having an issue where I am starting from a dead stop and depressing the accelerator doesn't do anything for a couple of seconds before finally kicking in. You can see why this is a big problem! It makes left turns with oncoming traffic potentially very risky to time correctly. Anecdotally, it seems to occur more often when the car hasn't been running for very long, when the AC is on, and when I am making a turn - but I wouldn't trust those conditions are necessary for it to occur.
The local mechanic calibrated my throttle body, which corrected the problem for a couple of weeks, but then it came back. He's now re-calibrated it a third time, and I will pick the car up after work and see if the issue persists, or returns. What I'm wondering is - what could be causing a systematic un-calibration of the throttle body? Has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks all! I'm hoping I don't need a dealership computer replacement, as I suspect those are $$
