mangoagogo 07-28-2010, 02:38 AM hot day huh? 100 degrees outside!!!
I love the set up. These wheels cover the gap very nicely.
Murphys_Law 07-28-2010, 02:43 AM nice cool day huh?
ack154 07-28-2010, 02:47 AM STechs are a bit too low for me. Not a huge fan. Doesn't look too bad though... even though it looks like you picked a "hell" of a day to do the swap.
Jdub86 07-28-2010, 02:50 AM Looks really good, I am likin it. I would love to do s techs where I live but the roads were destroy my car. I think my TRDs are as low as I will be able to go.

man its like this EVERYDAY over here, it the winter the lowest has been i think 34F..
Jdub86 07-28-2010, 03:25 AM Up here we are lucky if thats the high in the winter lol
Murphys_Law 07-28-2010, 03:59 AM 100 today with 100% humidity(it was raining) know how hard a a/c has to run to keep your windows fog free, and our a/cs suck
thisisluiss 07-28-2010, 04:10 AM yeah man today was hard, i dont think i can ever do springs again next time i rather pay a shop.. but oh well i got good results :)
Murphys_Law 07-28-2010, 04:54 AM did you atleast have air tools and some buddies to help?
Murphys_Law 07-28-2010, 04:54 AM even still when you look at the car it was all worth it
thisisluiss 07-28-2010, 12:33 PM did you atleast have air tools and some buddies to help?
yeah we had a compressor and it was 3 of us
thisisluiss 07-28-2010, 12:33 PM even still when you look at the car it was all worth it
dude, now i cant stop looking at the car
alaskanpeas 07-28-2010, 12:49 PM anybody else's s.techs noisy when going over bumbs as slow speeds. i get a metal clunking noise coming mostly from the front. ive checked everything that had to do with the install and the springs are seated properly and everything is tight but i cant find what this is. it sounds like the sway bar is rubbing on something but i cant see any indication of anything rubbing. shocks arnt blown, doesnt sounds like that.
troy2003 07-28-2010, 02:01 PM looks dope, man, the s. techs are the illest drop if you decide not to go the route of coils.
thisisluiss 07-28-2010, 02:09 PM so far im not regretting it, i wouldnt go for coils though. too much money i could actually get something else with that
troy2003 07-28-2010, 02:14 PM so far im not regretting it, i wouldnt go for coils though. too much money i could actually get something else with that
yea true, i guess it just depends on weather you want to mod your car, or are serious about big time shows, cause you will always be asked, "coils or springs??" at the larger shows....but true, that is another 700 spent elsewhere, i love my d2's tho, and all the adjustability it gives me....love the agressive s. tech stance tho man!!
thisisluiss 07-28-2010, 05:03 PM yea true, i guess it just depends on weather you want to mod your car, or are serious about big time shows, cause you will always be asked, "coils or springs??" at the larger shows....but true, that is another 700 spent elsewhere, i love my d2's tho, and all the adjustability it gives me....love the agressive s. tech stance tho man!!
yeah i was about to kill myself when i installed the TRDs and it wasnt as low as i wanted it. 4 months later i bought the stechs and put them on yesterday :)
so im selling my TRDs now since theyre brand new basically
gorbasho 07-28-2010, 07:57 PM looks good man, are you happier now than if you had traded for my h-techs? haha
thisisluiss 07-28-2010, 08:45 PM definitely YES
xdejablu3x 07-28-2010, 10:44 PM damnit, i knew i should of gone with stechs from the beginning but noooo...i didnt want to scrape on my drive way. anyone know the new specs for the newer stechs? i read on here in a few places that they are not as low as older production ones.
G2Low 07-28-2010, 10:48 PM what size wheels
thisisluiss 07-29-2010, 03:57 AM what size wheels
theyre 18s.. and i dont think there is such thing as "new stechs" i went to their website and its the same
xdejablu3x 07-29-2010, 04:30 AM lets hope your right. hows the ride quality compared to your old TRD's?
thisisluiss 07-29-2010, 04:51 PM lets hope your right. hows the ride quality compared to your old TRD's?
hmm i like it i just gotta go sideways when im going in my drive way, and the tires also touch the fender when im going at a high speed or when i go through a whole or something, but i guess thats normal.
xdejablu3x 07-30-2010, 10:49 PM hmm i like it i just gotta go sideways when im going in my drive way, and the tires also touch the fender when im going at a high speed or when i go through a whole or something, but i guess thats normal.
more responsive and bumpy though? lol i still have to drive sideways with my htechs on my driveway.
brusky 07-30-2010, 10:59 PM a lot of people seem to avoid the s tech routes in the beginning when going on springs because there scared its tooo low. but really s techs arent even that low. I think s techs are only one of the few springs out for a tc that gives the tc a nice drop without too much wheel gap. I use to be able to go right over decent sized speed bumps head on without even worrying about scraping.

i agree with you on this one, i went with TRDs first becaue i thought stechs were to low for me but i wanted to shoot myself when i saw the drop because it was still too high and it was the first mod i did to my car, it still looked like a monster truck i was about to take my car to the monster jam lol.. anyways i love these stechs i think its a perfect drop and i definitely recommend it to anyone specially if you're on stockies
Jasper Ash 07-31-2010, 04:29 AM There's word that newer production S-Techs sit higher. For example: I have newer S-Techs and FlintMica2005 has older S-Techs. My car sits a tad higher. Could be because I am running Tokico shocks and he's on stocks shocks. If you drive with minor caution - you'll be fine on S-Techs. Even with the lip.
thisisluiss 07-31-2010, 04:47 AM yeah so far i havent had any problems. hopefully i wont in the future but the stechs definitely give an amazing look to the car
O5_TRD_tC 07-31-2010, 05:22 AM looks greats so far!
xdejablu3x 07-31-2010, 03:50 PM well since im thinking about switching over to stechs from my htechs, where do you cut the bump stops for that setup? i know i had to cut some of mine but i forgot exactly where i did on my setup.
