Default ignition lock cylinder swich thingy em'bob

last couple of weeks when i try to start my car its getting hard to turn the key while the key is in the ignition... i try to turn the wheel to help get it unlocked but some times it doesn't work... it only puts up a fight for about 10 seconds and i'm able to get it to turn and start the car

When you bought the car it came with two keys, try the other one to see if its the key or ignition switch. Sometimes a switch wears out early due to an owner with a huge amount of stuff hanging off of the key chain. The extra weight gives them a shortened lifespan.

OK next step did you try the back up key?
how about some silicone lock lube? could just be sticking.
then I would pull the cover off steering column and check it out. since it eventually starts the mechanical lock out could be worn out or the lock cylinders themselves are worn.
