I'm about to buy some super white leds for my front parking lights from this site:

There's a couple that are 194s and wanted to know which you guys recommended.

i'd recommend these since you have an 08+ headlights, they're bright and would look perfect if you have 6k and 8k HIDs.

^You can try those.

I'm running Pilot 194 White LEDs and had to replace one a few months later as it was defective and no longer lit up. A trip to Autozone(or was it Advance AutoParts?) and switched the pair for a new set. 1 year defective replacement in store no problem at all, one advantage of getting something at a local store. So far all is good.

they're worth it, my gf has an 08 and i bought her a few LEDs from autolumination.com and they would burn out. now these have been on the car for almost a year and haven't had a problem with them flickering or dimming which is better than having to keep buying LEDs over and over.

yeah then they're worth it...just sayin i got all my LED's off ebay and spent under 10 bucks for my whole interior/exterior on my old tC which was 3 years ago. got my new tC last summer and transferred em onto it and they're still goin strong!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Hey Aciddrop, are those leds safe from overheating? I know they're leds but just wanted to make sure.

yes they are, they've been on the car for almost a year and before that i would order a few different type of LEDs from autolumination.com as well as the ones with heatsink on them just so they would burn out all at once or 1 LED at a time. yes the car is driven early in the morning to work when the sun is still down and also at night so the low beams are pretty much always on. if you want to see pics lmk so i can go take some to post up and show you

^Are you running HIDs for the low beams? With the 08-up headlamps being projectors I don't think heat would be an issue running just the lows. I haven't had a need to run high beams much so can't say much there. Besides having a defective LED, the Pilot 194 White has been holding up well.

yes 8k HIDs and the high beams are never used

AcidDrop: Yeah, can you post a picture. I'm curious to see how they look.

I just got 6K HIDs and want to change the stock parking lights so they look better.

It's hard to get a decent pic of LED parking lights without glare. It's just something you'll have to go on and just install. I know with mine I've had some people mistake them for halos/angel eyes around the high beams.

Thanks for the pics aciddrop. They look good.

I just received my leds and got one side installed but the other side is tough as hell. There's no room to put all my strength in there. I will give it another go tomorrow.

^Happened to me too. The bulbs are tough to take out the housing the first time, after that initial removal it's easier to work with. Which lights did you go with?

I forgot I had a pic in the online garage

Got the leds installed. Never got a chance of posting a picture so here it is. Totally satisfied I got them. They look so much better than stock. I think it's the camera but, mine doesn't look as blue as acidDrops.

AcidDrop

nice and that's how they actually look inperson, the pics i took made them look blue when they're not but did you get the same one? i didn't use flash on my point and shoot camera and took the pics out in a parking lot with no lighting around but i can see where the color changes in the pics i posted, you used a point and shoot camera right?

I got the same ones you got. I took the pictures with a point-n-shoot; nothing fancy. Night shots came out horrible so didn't bother to upload them.

wouldn't leds burn out relatively quickly in headlight due to heat?

dropzone
09-08-2010, 05:12 AM
In the 05-07 headlight housing yes, as it's under where the bulb is located. On the 08 and up I myself have had no problems as the led is set out further(well in the high beam, and how often is that used, rarely) and the low beam bulb is set closed behind the projector.
