does 235/40/17 sound good?

I would go 215/35/18 but that is just me !!

225/40/18s is what the scion optional 18" wheels come with. That is what I went with on my konig unknowns which are 18x7.5 im sure the tire will also fit an 18x8 rim just fine. Use this as a calculator when choosing tires:
