My sister's Scion had to go in because of a check engine light, so my dad got that taken care of and we also asked for them to look at the trunk release button because the rubber piece that sits on top of the button has pretty much melted to nothing. The stealership quoted $62.16 for the part and $134.88 for labor... yeh right. If someone can link me to where we can purchase the button assembly or give me a part number we'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

 

The only place I could think to look was toyotapartsbarn.com and it looks like the lock assembly is 168.21.

Xb is part# 84840‑52010 should be about 15 min to install and about $50-65 new
I have a used one for xB
tC is part# 84840‑21010

 

Yeh I looked but I came up with nothing... thats why I'm here. I'm not one to take advantage of the system.

Thats alot of money due to some melted rubber, too bad you have to replace the whole assembly.
