I know this may sound like a dumb question. Did the gen1 xB's come with a dome light that turns on when you open the doors? I bought my 06 xB used and the previous owner put a overhead video system in it. There is no interior light when you open the doors. I thought that was because the overhead video system took out the factory dome light. I decided to do something about it and when I looked to see the push-button switches that activate the interior light (dome light) I don't see any. Does this mean there wasn't any sort of interior lights that turn on for 06 xB's?

It's really annoying not having the interior lights when the doors open. Can someone post a picture of the switch and where it is. Thanks.

 

yes he probably used the power supply from it for the video
Also the pin switches are hard to find as they are hidden with a rubber type protector

 

theres a thread on the clubxb site about adding a second or third dome light. i tryed lookin for it but i have to run. i'll look some more when i get back.

 

Does the overhead player have a built-in type of dome light? I know there are a few overhead players with dome lights as some are intended to be installed in place of the factory dome light.

 

Nope. I know what you mean. I've seen that most overhead video players now have built in lights. I was thinking of putting a dome light up near the front and one near the back but I didn't see the switches in the door. I'll have to look closer tomorrow morning.

 

I used the power and ground for the dome light to add foot lights and a rear light.

You just have to pull the headliner and get creative
