Default Decent tires for stock rims?

I've never replaced all 4 tires (approaching 35k miles) but they're looking like they're worn down enough that they might not pass the next inspection.. so it's time to start looking for new ones. I once had to replace 1 tire a long time ago due to a nail in a spot that couldn't be plugged, and since I needed it fast, I didn't have time to research the best tire/price, so I might have paid too much..

Anyways, what should I look for and where should I get them put on? Goodyear? Or are there other recommended places?

Advice appreciated

michelin pilots or yokahama s drives just to name a couple... Goodyear is ight for installs I guess. I bought and got my tires installed @ sams club because the offer a great warranty on them. My pops bought his michelins from there a while back and just noticed a lot of road noice. Turned out the belt inside had shifted so they replaced the front tires for free..

depends on where you're living. Toyo proxes4's are nice, decent, last about 25k or so. I always get rid of tires at 4/32" since snow traction is severely limited by then. So for my tastes the Toyos last a decent amount of time. Wished they lasted longer. but on the other hand I think the proxes4 ride comfort is the best in my opinion. had some others i've tried like pirelli pzero nero m+s, hardest riding EVER! like having concrete for tires. Then the yokohama W4S i think they were, made the car seem like an 80s buick, NO steering feel, got rid of those.

How much do these tires typically run, price-wise?

Idk if you're on a budget like me but I just replaced all of my tires yesterday. I got a set of Hankook Ventus HRII H405 and so far so good. They were $450 for the set, installed, with certificates for repair/replacement for the life of the tires.

about $120-130 a tire for a 215/45-17 size. daewonder is right, the hankook are much cheaper than the proxes4 but in my thoughts the proxes4s were cheaper than pirelli or michelin brands.

I have Falken FK452's on my stockies at the moment. I'm almost at 20,000 miles on them and they still have plenty of meat on them, might last me maybe another 15,000 miles. They run for probably around $120 a corner.
