Default Descendant powered xB2 dyno #'s & pictures

Hello guys...just wanted to share some great numbers with everyone! Our local customers xB2 just made a whapping 330+WHP!!

This first sheet was the DESCENDANT Turbo Kit @ 8-9psi with TRD exhaust and no other componets:

After a few months go by (look at the dated dyno chart) customer comes back looking for more power but wants his daily driver to remain stealth. So, we add intake manifold & fuel rail and gave it a shot. Below are he’s next dyno numbers...these pulls are his second dyno attempt with the DESCENDANT Turbo Kit at 8-9psi, the TRD exhaust & now the intake manifold & fuel rail. Plus TRD Clutch & LSD.

Basically after tuning the OEM fuel system to the MAX we gained about 20WHP & 30TQ at the same basic 8-9psi boost level.

Engine bay pics:

Also note all dyno numbers above are all thru the OEM air box with TRD drop in filter. :D

Tranny is the EZ part! We've made over 700WHP on the STOCK OEM Scion gearbox!

Its EZ...it is adjustable by removing the 6 allen head bolts from the top of the TiAL MVS wastegate and changing the color of spring inside of it.

The MVS gate is designed to use 10 different spring combinations which allow you to control the boost from 4.8psi to 14.7psi

Hey Rob, it's Mike, the dude with the black/white xB that you guys boosted about 2 weeks ago or so. Great numbers that you all are putting out with your kit! Just wondering, when's the best day to get my tuned to 9 PSI and on the dyno? I'm dying to see the numbers that my ride puts out. Oh, by the way, the kit is performing very well! =)

What Rob said, although another method is to run a 7psi spring and an external boost controller to raise boost when desired.

thanx rob and scionfred for the info
have another question tho
currently i have the nst un crank, od alt, and pump kit, how would that affect turbo setup?
also whenever i change the psi do i have to adjust the cpu manually or does it self-adjust?

IMO the pulleys won't have any negative effect on the turbo setup. I'm running the NST UD crk pulley alone and have had no issues at all. To make life easier on the alt I swapped out most of my oe bulbs for LEDs. I also installed a 170F thermostat and 1 step colder spark plugs.

I'm not sure what psi the Descendant FIC tune is good for but if you tune for max boost, that same tune will be fine for lower boost. If their supplied tune is for 8-9psi, it might need some more tuning to run 12psi. Also, if you want to run 12psi you really need to consider beefing up other oe components like the fuel system, clutch, LSD, motor mounts, etc. and save up for the inevitable engine rebuild and other broken parts. There are very good reasons why all available turbo kits come set to certain boost and power limits.

If you're serious about boosting your XB, I'd recommend starting out with the basic kit, drive it for a while and then see if you still want more power. Big power costs big money.

Hey Rob, when you say "TRD exhaust", do you mean that all this guy has is the TRD axle-back on the stock ~2" exhaust system? If so, the results are amazing.

Happy to help when I can. Personally I wouldn't go more than 10psi on the stock internals but I'm more conservative than some here. My second vehicle is a motorcycle so a blown engine would be a real PITA.
