Default learn from my mistake!

Ok. So a little while back it had snowed a couple times in a row (i live in northern VA), so needless to say the beautiful tC got dirty. So i saw about a week ago that the weather was bout to get nice and i really didn't wanna be driving around in a dirty car. But i had to work all week long and had absolutely no time to wash my car, so i decided to chance it and go through a car wash. BIG MISTAKE. It was a no-brush wash with peeps who come out and dry it for u...

anyways, afterward i gave it a quick glance, saw nothing wrong and took off... right now it's about a week later and i decided to wash my car... There are about 10 or so chips in my paint. the biggest being about half a centemeter across. I'm not stressing it too much cuz i'm getting a paint job in the near future (tangerine pearl) but i just wanted to warn all of ya'll incase you get to thinking like me "oh, one time won't hurt nothin!" <~~~~ it most def will!

Or was it due to the HIGH pressure of the water? But if that was the case, you would have more peeling than chips I think.

I have gone through plenty of brushless washes with no issues. How did a brushless car wash chip your paint??? I had a decent sized pebble bounce of my hood (off of an uncovered dump truck!) the other day without chipping the paint.

ive been washing my car with touchless at least once a week since ive gotten my car at the end of november. No damage at all. Are you sure it wasnt the particular one you went to? Either way that really sucks if they made your paint chip.

Actually this past weekend I took a chance and went through a "touch" car wash for the first time in my tC. Didnt really notice anything bad either. I took the chance because the touchless doesnt do that great of a job at cleaning.

hate to say it but it wasn't the car wash that caused the chips in your paint. it was the crappy paint that caused the chips in your paint. GL on getting that new paintjob, that's the only way to rock this Scion!

yeah the paint scratches and chips easily cause it's really cheap, and really thin. i'm probably gonna get it re-painted a deep black in the future. i'm starting to not like the sparkles.

I've been through our touchless wash probably 20 or 30 times this winter and it hasn't done anything to my paint. Maybe you should stop driving so close behind trucks. ;)

i have a small chip.. barely noticable some how in the front bumper part... prob small rock or something...

i realized it comes off very easily... :/

and i would rather not wash my car for 6 month or so then taking it to a car wash place...
