i purchased some tein ss-p coilovers for a good price (1179) and was wondering how hard would it be to install them myself?

Its pretty easy. You just need a few simple tools. Since you have the pillowball mounts, you don't have to deal with taking the stock strut apart.
I installed my Tein basics on my tC this past weekend, and even though I had to use the stock top mount, I got the job done within a few hours.

It is rather easy to replace to a coilover system. I think the hardest part is to take off the nut ontop of the spring cap. just my two cents. ^_^

Well, it sucks to access the rear top mounts, under the carpeting. But its not hard, just a bit time consuming to take it all apart and put back together.

im venturing into this soon. do you have to remove the back seats to access it too?

No, you don't have to remove the seats.

Check out this thread, it has a few pics of what I am talking about:

the pillowball mounts ARE the upper mounts.
Do you have to buy them seperately from the coil overs? Yes
Are the mounts and pillowball seperate? No

s tech instructions says to cut the bump stop (bumpers) 1.2 off the front end, none in the rear. did everyone do this? im installing mine this week, and just wanted to know what i should or shouldnt do with the bump stops. if you dont cut them, theres more chance of bottoming out, right?

I always cut the bump stops in half on every car when lowering it
