SHOW_BOX 03-10-2005, 05:30 PM personally i am going with 17 on 40's becasue 35 is too thin for my taste its not like our car weigh a whole lot but i would still with a 40 just to be safe also its a lil bit cheaper melongunner 03-10-2005, 05:32 PM http://www.roystory.com/images/march13wedding/pages/spinner_hubcaps.htm [/img] DisneybB 03-10-2005, 06:51 PM Actually 45 series is the closer size tire on a 17" Think weight bigger is Heavier! Mooneyzs 03-10-2005, 07:09 PM I was debating the same thing for when I get my Box if I was going to go 17's or 18's but I decided I am going 17's with either 205/45-17 or 215/45-17. I think 35 series are a little to small of a wall height here in AZ with some of the roads that they have and don't want to take the change of damaging a rim. I don't own an xB yet, but on my Focus I regreted getting the bigger ASA 17" wheels before the turbo. Even if the wheel was the same mass (which they aren't, they are usually heavier), the weight is further from the axis of rotation which means more power is lost spinning them up and slowing them down. Notice how an ice-skater speeds up doing a spin as they pull their leg and arms in towards their body? Same concept. And that Focus had a couple extra ponies helping it out... and yes I know that bigger wheels (to a point) LOOK much better, no argument. Out of the two, I'd try to go with some 17"s, and try not to go too wide on your wheel/tire package (remember its unsprung weight too so it affects the handling/ride). Do they have any good lightweight forged 17s in the xB offset/size?
