Default Overdrive temperature lockout.

'06 Xb 32,000 miles. This winter, seems like I have to go a lot farther down the road before the cold light will go off, and tranny will shift into Overdrive. Where is the sensor that controls this. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

The engine temp sensor is in the side of the head. It's not likely that there is a problem with it though. If anything, you may have a stuck thermostat.
