I got the trd springs installed today a week after recieving them. The drop is huge compared to the 1.5 inches people say that it would drop. I'll post pics tonight but its a big difference.

You finally got them! Don't forget to come to the BBQ in April.

we finally dropped our demo, after almost 2 years. so we now have an xA and xB dropped. :P i was pretty impressed with them. doesn't really change the ride quality at all.

I installed mine about a week ago. I wouldn't say the drop is "huge". I would just say it's subtle. I am happy with mine because I didn't want to get too low.

did you just install the springs with stock shocks? Cuz I was told by the dealer if I get the springs I need to get the shocks as well? Is this true or are they just trying to have me buy more?

I'm running stock at the moment. I think as long as you don't go too drastic you are okay. Too much and you may have to worry about bottoming out the struts. I may be wrong and if I am someone correct me but this is what I have always been taught. :lalala:

I've had the TRD Springs with the stock shocks for 30k miles now and my struts are probably in need of an upgrade. everything still feels firm but who knows how long they'll last. i'd like to pick up a pair of the trd strut set next.

ok cool, cuz the dealer was telling me that the stock shocks would last like 5,000 miles. and i wotn have that much money after i get my rims so i just wanted to just get the springs, so hopefully i dont mess up anything other than just wearing the shocks out faster than normal! Any other facts or opinions would be appreciated on this, thanks!

I have heard a lot of people say that people tell them to upgrade the shocks, but havent heard any horror stories about dropping on stocks. I am running the stock shocks so i guess i will find out one way or another.

I'm going with TRD on stocks. By the time the stock shocks/struts wear out, I'm hoping to have money saved for coilovers and I'll give it the works then.

Are the TRD shocks comparable to the stock ride quality? My priority is maintaing ride quality followed by looks.

How do the TRD shocks compare with Tein's H-tech? Those are about 1" drop too right?

pardon my ingorance,.... but I take it that each spring manufacturer has a pre-set drop? If I wanted to drop my box about an inch I would go with either of the two you mentioned above and if I wanted to go lower I would go with????
dumb question I know, still new at this and am looking to get springs soon.

Yes, the drop depends on the springs. The TRD's and H_Techs drop an inch, most of the others are a 2 inch drop, like GoldLines, etc. Some have a slight stagger - 2 in front, 1.8 in rear for example, but I love the stance of my GoldLines and it doesn't look low in the back.

When I see people say that the TRD's don't change the ride quality, I think of it as a bad thing cuz the GoldLines improved the ride, IMO. Less bouncy, less hobby-horsing, improved cornering.

As for the stock shocks and struts, I wrote to Goldline to ask them about this and here is the response:

Gold Line (along with most other spring companies) design their product to
work with factory shocks/struts. Not to say that overall ride/handling
quality cant be improved by going to an aftermarket shock/strut.

Tein S-Techs are 1.7fr, 1.5rr. Those are my second choice... depending on how warranty friendly my dealer wants to be with my installing the S-Techs.

i agree, the df210's also improved the ride. making it less bouncy and more responsive in the corners too
