Bought Used Car, Inspection Sticker No Good
Whats up! I just bought a 06 scion tC love the car. I did my research before buying the car and to me for the price and mileage the car was a good buy nothing mechanically was wrong and it drove great to me. The dealer said the car was to get inspected and on there website they say all cars get a 1 year state inspection...I live in PA by the way.
I never noticed until 2 weeks later my girlfriends Dad who is a retired cop saw my inspection sticker were no good they say 2/11 I bought it two weeks ago...We called the dealership they gave us grief until we told them my girlfriends dad is a cop and hes the one that pointed it out. After that they told us go up to them this Saturday which is a hour drive there to get it inspected...for free.
So here are my concerns questions...Is it worth even taking it to them and trusting them not to just slap the stickers onto the car?
Should they half to pay to fix anything that does not pass inspection since they sold me the car without the updated inspection stickers.
Should I get it inspected again after they do it to make sure they did it right? And if something is found after they did it should they pay to fix it still?
I even got a picture of the car on there lot right before I drove it off and you can see the 2/11 on the inspection sticker...And I know I should of had another mechanic look at it before I bought but had to take 2 days off work just to get the car and it is an hour away...
So what do you all think could possible come out of this?
Thanks!

Inspection is just saftey and emissions so if you have no check engine light on then you should be good to go. they do have to pay for it since they were suppose to do it in the first place. i wouldnt get it inspected again after they did it. it was a mistake on their part and it's nothing too serious. if you want, you can inspect your car yourself just to assure yourself.. i used to be a Texas State Instpector (TSI) so im not sure if the same rules apply over there but here are the basic saftey items you need to cover/look over to pass:
Lug nut-make sure all wheels have 5 lug nuts
brakes- make sure the brakes fuction properly (the inspector is to do a brake test by driving the car up to 10mph and slamming on the brakes to make sure they grab but you can visually check to make sure the pads are fine and the rotors are fine as well
seat belt- make sure they retract fine, click in fine and when you pull on them quickly (as if you were in an accident), that they tighten up and dont let you unreel the belt.
wiperblades- make sure the rubber on the blades aren't worn/tearing
headlight-make sure headlight (low beam/high beam) work properly.
tail lights- make sure the tail lights light up when the lights are on and the brake lights work properly as well
turn signals- make sure they work properly
and thats basically what you can check yourself, but i would take it in and have them put that sticker on since they were suppose to in the first place. hope this helps..
