Hey guys-

I'm a proud new owner of a black Scion Xb. I love it! I'm looking for a way to hook up my MP3 player via it's 1/8" Line output. I'm thinking maybe I could use the XM radio inputs? My question is - how do I get the stereo out of the dash to access the back panel? What type of connectors am I looking at when I do get to the back panel? I'm thinking there's gotta be some documentation on this, right? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Cody

The stock cd player plays MP3's. you just have to put them on a cd. A cd with MP3's can hold tons of music instead of the music format's, 80 min.

Thanks for your response.

I've been using MP3 CDs and think it's cool, but would like more flexability. If anybody knows of where I could find modification documentation that'd be great! Thanks.

There should be an adaptor by Vendeta that will allow an aux preamp input for an ipod or dvd plater. I will have to check. I am currently adding xm with an aftermarket adaptor and a pioneer xm processor and an antanna for about half the cost of the factory piece.

Try a wired or wireless FM modulator.

do they actually make an adapter? i wish they made our units with IP bus inputs like every other pioneer. i'm sure that its really a toyota call rather than something pioneer did. ohwell....

go with the FM modulator. They work really well. I use one For my Novad Mp3 player and it works flawlessly. And they are pretty cheap too!

if you wanna keep the stock radio i would definitly use a wired RF mod. we had trouble with the wireless ones in my shop that we try not to sell em anymore....

just my 2 cents.

i installed a wired FM modulator (check the post). i did a crap load of research on a cable instead of the modulator, but i found nothing.

Just get the itrip, it works OK. Will transmit to any FM radio. Have a friend using on on two of his 30 gig Ipods.
Link for Itrip.

my brother brought one of those iTrip things but does not use it anymore, since the quality is bad (well, as good as wireless FM modulators go). he liked the wired FM modulator that i installed thou.
