Default Air filter?

I was wondering if any of you guys knows where the air filter is and how to remove it.
My xA feels as if it is getting slower and my gas mileage seems to have decreased.

I know that the air filter can affect this if it is dirty, so I was thinking of checking it and cleaning it or replacing it. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a stock air filter and want to stay that way I suggest you get the k&n drop in air filter. So much better than the paper filters.

Thanks for that info.
How much should those run? I have seen them on ebay for around $35.
Also, and sorry for my ignorance but, how do you get to the air filter?

I was trying to look for it in the manual yesterday and did not see any mention of it anywhere. If it is in there what section? Am I really that blind?

No, you're not blind. Car owners manuals rarely give you any useful DIY information anymore. There is nothing about how to change the air filter or even the oil in your owners manual. However, there should be a diagram showing you where the air filter is. I think it's towards the back of the manual.
