And what trim pack did you go with, Metra or another brand? KidJustin 06-03-2011, 05:56 PM Hey Kid. Do you have any pictures of your 4300 installed? And what trim pack did you go with, Metra or another brand? by trim pack you mean the dash kit? i went with Scoche here's the ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330523278108&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT When I got it...it looked just a little different....i had to make some mods to make it fit correctly 1st i had to sand down this thing on the inside that was sticking out....that way it would sit flush on the sides without gaps 2nd i had to cut a little of the back so that the stock brackets wont hit it in a few i'll got snap a picture of my radio installed and also draw a little diagram of the modding i had to do on the dash kit i still have the ebay links of all the other parts i ordered to if you need it Rotz 06-03-2011, 07:03 PM That would be awesome. I'm thinking of getting the same HU and I'm not a big fan of surprises. KidJustin 06-03-2011, 07:04 PM Modding the Kit: http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/4927/kitmod.png the red lines are where i cut so that it wouldnt get in the way of the stock bracket and the red box...(not shown in picture) there was strip of plastic sticking out...i shaved it with sand paper to make it flat like the ebay picture pix of it installed: http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2449/dsc0002gd.jpg http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/8459/dsc0005ce.jpghttp://img577.imageshack.us/img577/1831/dsc0006eu.jpghttp://img830.imageshack.us/img830/9912/dsc0007rj.jpg Rotz 06-03-2011, 08:34 PM Looks real good man, thanks for the assist. Vimaalien 06-03-2011, 08:54 PM KidJustin did you install the pac swi? if so what wire did you tap in to.. KidJustin 06-04-2011, 01:36 AM no i used Axxess ASWC it came with instructions and i just followed that...if u have any questions about it let me know..it was a little confusing for me at first goose_119 06-04-2011, 05:55 AM http://www.pac-audio.com/SWI/ there ya go. my swi-ps works great with my pioneer 4300 scionchicop 06-05-2011, 12:50 AM Thanks guys. Goose, i'll have to take the directions i printed out to my installer. I tried it myself and noticed they didn't even have the arrow pointing to number 1. It was on five. I got as far as programming it and getting the led to blink 8 times, but after that, i was lost. Its a mess of cables and i don't even think they connected the provided resistors. javithekid069 06-05-2011, 07:15 AM Kid, were you able to connect the factory aux and usb port to the radio? I plan on doing this but I dont want to lose that connection or having to use a separate cable for my iPhone. KidJustin 06-05-2011, 07:26 AM javithekid069 the Pioneer came with a usb cable (Male to Female connection) i just plugged that in to the aftermarket HU, cut the other end, cut the end of the stock aux cable and then spliced it together if you didn't know...there's 4 wires...black and red for power/ground and i think its brown and purple for data...the pioneer's usb cable has different colors for data...green/white i think... the power/ground is easy-same colors....but to be honest i can't tell you which ones matchup for the data because I forgot how I did it...sorry USB/POD works perfect...though to think of it...i never tried to heaphone jack..maybe ill test it tomorrow for kicks javithekid069 06-05-2011, 07:51 AM thanks for the reply, I imagined that something like that would have been what I could do but now I know for sure. Thanks very much and nice write up. Vimaalien 06-05-2011, 01:22 PM KidJustin where did you hook up your speed wire for navi? n what color where did you tap in to i cant seem to find it KidJustin 06-05-2011, 06:16 PM javithekid069 i've also heard through the grapevine that your dealership might have some kind of adapter...just in case your didn't want to cut the stock cable Vimaalien, sorry no navigation in mine...not yet at least. if all else fails...contact the manufacturer for support if u still dont know by the time i get my nav (which might not be soon) i'll let you know javithekid069 07-09-2011, 10:57 PM Kid, how did you manage to install the ASWC kit? I got my radio installed, but I didn't install the ASWC because I didn't know how. Also, I'm very picky when it comes to splicing cables on stock wires, any harness available that you know of? Because I saw one for toyotas but it does not look the same... KidJustin 07-10-2011, 06:58 AM @javithekid069 (http://www.scionlife.com/forums/member.php?u=203074) i just followed the instructions that came with it...there was no splicing of factory wires needed for the install (well except for the USB...but that's a diff story and not exactly necessary) the ASWC wires (only what is in the instructions) splice into the harness i bought for my HU...then for the stock it was simple plug-n-play then do the steps for auto configuring it.... tip: if u attempt to auto configure once...but it fails...check ur connections and try again...BUT follow the steps on how to do another auto configure, where u have to reset first or something the instructions are a little confusing, but just go through it slowly and you will get it just PM me if u have any trouble and i'll dig up my manual and see where i can help |
