Default Factory Tire Replacement

hey guys, just looking for some recommendations here. About to replace the factory tires on my 08 xb (just hit 40k) and I was hoping to find out some good replacement options. I have looked into a few (Bridgestone Potenzas, Dunlop Sport Z1, Yokohama Envigors) but like usual its mixed reviews and most of the cars sporting them seem to all be little 2 doors. I live in Missouri so I need a good all season as the winters can get pretty bad at times.

so any recommendations? Cionide I know you are the wheel/tire master

I try to avoid making brand recommendations, because driving impressions can be so subjective, and I don't want somebody ticked off that they didn't like what I recommended. I also don't need snow rated all-seasons here in Cali, so you might need more tire than I have experience with. I will throw out their that I have Falken 912 asymmetrical all-season performance tires that can be fully rotated (if you're not running staggered wheels). Their performance on both wet & dry pavement has been far superior to the OEM Goodyear RS-A's (I know... that's not saying much), but they are fairly heavy tires with a high rolling resistance which has resulted in decreased mpg.

I recommend checking Tire Rack's reviews. Look for a highly rated all-season tire with good snow/ice ratings.

I am in the same boat right now. What tire did you purchase? I am in Fl so I don't have to worry about snow. There are so many options out there it makes your head swim.

I ordered some Continental ExtremeContact DWS for my car. I should have it by Friday or Monday. Will let you know my inital impression of them once its on the car. At this point, anything would be better than my bald factory tires.

I actually wound up going with the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums. I only drove on them for about a month before my car was totaled, but I was really happy with them. wish I could have made it into the winter with them to see how they did, but no such luck.

Dude in a Dodge Ram blew through a red light and ran right into the driver's side front end. Did about $12k worth of damage so my insurance company totaled it out. Sad day for sure...
