Default Think I will be alright???

Ok, I have the Rockford Fosgate 800.2 punch amp thats rates at 800x1 or 400x2 watts, 2 Rockford Fosgate HX2's that have 1000 watts max 500 rms each and a 2.4 farad capacitor. I am also running a lil amp to my regular speakers that is like 45x4. All I was wondering is, will I have to upgrade my alternator or battery? Or do you think I should atleast upgrade my battery to a optima? Give me the lowdown on what all I need....Thanks, Tyler

you should be fine. i'm running over 1800 watts in my xB and i watch my voltage rarely drop below 13V while i'm driving. you're running 1k watts, so you shouldn't have any problems unless you play it with the car off.

you'll be fine. don't worry about another battery.

the big 3 IS a set of ground wires... much better than things you can buy if you use 2 gauge or 0 gauge wire.

Technically speaking...the big 3 is 2 grounds and a power wire.

Ground from Battery to Frame

Ground from Battery to Engine Block

Power from Alt to Battery

At least those are the 3 I've always been shown and the ones that make the most sense.

I love how easy it will be to swap out my tC alt. At least it looks really easy

Upgrading to an Optima battery won't hurt ... but its not a must ... If you can afford to upgrade it then I would do it ... A stronger battery is always a good thing when you get into adding systems but most people just don't want to spend the money ... I would say YES get the optima, nothing bad can happen only good!

I've never seen a grounding kit that included a wire for the alternator/battery connection.

THEY BOTH DO THE SAME THING........A GRND. WIRE KIT IS OBVIOUSLY SMALLER WIRE.....SO EVIDENTLY THEY AREN'T THE SAME THING.....ALL I'M SAYING IS THAT EITHER WILL DO THE JOB WITH THAT LITTLE POWER....IT'S JUST ACCORDING TO WETHER OR NOT HE WANTS TO GO THROUGH THE TROUBLE OF MAKING HIS OWN OR NOT.......GOSH!!! IDIOT!!!!!
