Default Problems with paint scratching super easy?

Is anyone else having problems with there paint scratching very easily? I have a black 11 tc so they show up a little more than other colors but it still seams to scratch to easily. I paint cars, i dont do it for a living but i do it on the side, and ive never had a problem like this..Anyone else?

It could just be because it's black, like you said black does show more imperfections.

My front bumper has chips all over it... I don't remember my GTI having this many paint chips though.

The paint is thin. It's been like that since 2005 and I see they haven't done anything about it.

I have the black as well and yeah... I have a few saddening areas where either I or other people have brushed up upon... They aren't too bad... but definitely a deeper scratch than I can just go and buff out.

Probably environmentally friendly paint that's being used, my paint's chipped up all over the front, a nasty one on the hood. Oh well, it's a daily driven 09 and currently at 20K miles. Should have got the 3M clear bra for the front.

Mine seemed to chip more in the first few months. It's like the paint is not fully cured or something. I might be imagining stuff, but the paint does seem tougher now. Mine is 8 months old.

i thought it was just me...i would go outside and complain about all the swirls and scrathes my tc2 had! But then i noticed its on every tc2 so far that ive seen besides white. I think i might just paint mine over and great the best clear coat on there put on, cuz it bothers me that much and i have a black tc2

I have the white and I have well over 50+ chips from stones on the car. 7 months on the road. My 04 Camry had about the same at 150,000k but it had a bug deflector.

^ I was just curious - if paint chips on black look white, what do the chips on white look like? Mine are just "peppered" on the bumper cover... millions.

Is there any production car with a message board that doesn't have at least one "The Paint Scratches too Easily / is too Thin" thread?

I dont think so, was hoping for some sort of coating or something. All well I guess its just the nature of cars vs road
