bBted 02-11-2004, 04:17 AM man...installing sways on xb is not an easy task...trust me...
2fixA 02-11-2004, 05:01 AM yeah Stylis has a few notches on his belt for these puppies.. as for how they stick... damn, following Stylis and Mikey down to Exposed in the Grapvine area of I-5 was crazy... really impressive, it was funny to see them hit big bumps though and see them pickup a bit
HotBox 02-11-2004, 02:22 PM anyone know how much will the dealer charge to install the bars cause i need to go get an oil change so ima head over there today and get the oil change and ask them to install the bars while theyre at it but can someone give me a rough estimation
dinkjs 02-11-2004, 02:48 PM The back one should take that long looking at it since its an add on....you could do that yourself....as for the front....what I heard I would probably set aside 50 to 100 bucks....I say 100 just because ya never know
HotBox 02-11-2004, 04:08 PM thanks man ill prolly do that when i get home but dont really wanna since its raining and my little work spot is all wet but ill see thanks for the estimate
100 bucks, that sounds cheap. Hope thats the price, but what ever you pay. The difference is worth it!
HotBox 02-11-2004, 08:51 PM i just got back from the toyota/scion dealer and i got my free oil change and a quote for the installation of the sway bars. he told me it would be 136 bucks and an hour to do it so dinkjs was pretty close so tomorrow afternoon ill be taking them corners like it aint no thang 8) 8)
dinkjs 02-11-2004, 09:23 PM man dont go to the dealer.....that is way to much for that.....go to any mechanic who knows how to put them on....which is pretty much all of them....you can get it done alot closer to 100 dollars....they are ___ raping you
bBted 02-11-2004, 09:55 PM i wish i can get it done around 100...
damn...the installation is the only thing stopped me
bBted 02-11-2004, 10:03 PM im not talking about only 36 bucks...over here, its not EVEN close...
hopefully my friend can help me out.... are you looking at this?
showpaojoe 02-11-2004, 10:06 PM dude you are getting a GREAT deal on that price. normally around $170+ for that install. and ted, i'm on the same boat, not gunna dish out to install yet
HotBox 02-11-2004, 10:09 PM sorry ted that wasnt directed towards you it was directed towards dinkjs
Al-Truistic 02-11-2004, 10:12 PM J---
I say let the dealer or someone like Stylis that knows (and cares...) about our boxes do the install. $136.00 is pretty fair and you are right, the dealer would have to be responsible for the install and its outcome. I hear the install should not take long but, when I got them installed through Longo Scion...let's just say dinner was cold when I got home, but damn! I was riding on rails going home for sure!
I don't know if it matters for installation but, I also got an alignnment out of it too!
heehee, 136 is real cheap, you gotta remember that here incalifornia the labor rate is very expensive. the dealer labor rate is 75-100 an hour! So 136.00 is very good!! I charge 175.00 alone for the swaybar install. :D ted I see it! don't worry about your price! :D
HotBox 02-11-2004, 10:23 PM damn an alignment too hmm mayb i should ask for one of those too maybe ill get a free one =P
i didnt know that stylis but now i do im glad i dont live over there =P

You don't need an alignment at all. Just have the swaybars installed, but it the alighnment is off, then the shop did something wrong. Just a heads up.
HotBox 02-11-2004, 11:59 PM thanks on the heads up also if the streering wheel shakes after putting rims on whats the prob?
Al-Truistic 02-12-2004, 12:22 AM Yeah, the tracking was off so, the boys at Longo did the right thing and did the alignment, that's what I mean, if a shop does it and they don't care the cost would end up being more as well as the pain in the ___ that be included at no additional charge...

Meaning if they screw up , make sure they do an alignment!
Also if your rims are vibrating after the install, then maybe they were not balanced correctly. 8)
