Default Dealer Maintenance Question

General Question..., has anyone gotten their P.C.V. checked out at the dealer and or replaced and if so how much was the labor. Is this something which anyone can check or can it only be changed professionally? My dealer CLAIMED a labor fee of over $200 bux for this and I just want to check this equipment and change or upgrade my air filter to a CAI. any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you

Mike

PCV should be good to go for a very long time (>100,000 miles no problem), no clue on the time it takes.

anyone getting their 15000 scheduled maintenance check at the dealership? mine quoted me 269 for it. i know it involves replacing spark plug, fluids, etc. but can someone give me an extensive run down of what exactly it is? thanks.

Default Extensive rundown

Well it's simple.. the extensive rundown includes many BS checks which usually don't have to be done for at least 6 months. The try to "over check" the tC because it's such a new car. I know people that don't change spark plugs until basically they STOP working.. usually up around 100,000 miles.. Most of the checklist items you can let go for at LEAST 50,000 miles.

I don't agree with paying Toyota those prices.. just get a copy of the service checklist and do it somewhere else...

good luck.. sorry to sound sinical... but Toyota loves ripping people off...
