Can someone please give me some advice on which bike rack is better for the XB: the hitch type or the trunk/hatch type? Will the door support the weight of a trunk type rack? I am looking at Saris or Thule at the local bike shop.

Will the xB handle a hitch mounted one?

Any input appreciated.

 

We have a hitch rack and it works great.. I hated having the hatch one because it sat on the bumper and deformed it.

 

I wondered about the damage the hatch type might do. Some are cabled onto the door and don't rest on the bumper, but seems like they could be tough on the door.
