Default Another little thing I love about our cars...

I love that you can't lock your car with your remote key when the doors are open.

I have in the past in other cars pre lock remote my car.... BEFORE I close the doors to find out that I left my keys in the seat and locked out of the car!

Just thought I'd share the obvious...

I for one am annoyed by this feature. There are many times I try to lock the car with a door open and it wont let me, or I am already out of the car with my door shut and although the passenger is still getting out I would like to be able to lock the car. Oh well, different strokes for different folks...

I thought it only automatically locked if you pushed the unlock button and then didn't open the door within 30 seconds

no he's just smoking the reefer. It only locks automatically if you unlock it and don't open the doors or press the unlock button again for 30 seconds or so.

Calikitten? where do they sell burt's bees products? I work at cracker barrel and that is the only place i have ever seen them? but yea their lip gloss (CHAP STICK for male purposes) is sweet.

I kinda miss the short horn beep on door lock successful of my Nissan, but the tC just keeps finding ways to make me look at it again.

You can't lock/unlock the doors with the remote if there is a key in the ignition, either.

When I leave the dog in the car I like to leave the valet key in the ignition with the radio and fan on, and then lock the car with the remote. On the tC I have to lock the doors before I get out to lock the passenger door and hatch, then lock the driver's door with the key after I get out.

Hmmm, I wonder if this is because the key is physically in the switch, because the ignition is switched on, or because the code chip in the key is present. I guess I could have a key cut without the chip and see what happens.

This isn't an issue for most people, I'm sure.

Another feature I wish the tC had is double locking like BMW. Once the car is locked with the key or remote, you cannot open it from the inside. Nice because you can leave the windows down a bit without someone being able to open the car (not so on the tC ). It can really freak out a person, though, if you lock them in.

Uh, but then the car wouldn't start at all.

Anyway....

I love how the seats fold flat. I went to Home Depot to by some stuff to make shelves and the wood only came in 8' length. Bought it, took it out to the car, folded the passenger seat flat and the rear seat flat. Can you say 8' truck bed?! It held the 8' planks just fine and even had room to spare. I love this car more and more as I drive it.
