Default Thinking about selling

Hello, I am back and forth on selling or keeping my xb. A dealer by me has a RS 2012 xb that I like. However my xb is paid off and is an 05 with only 32k miles on it. KBB has it at around 11,200 excellent so I would probably look for 10,500 for it but then I would have a montly payment of 100something with the 2012. Also the price KBB has for my car keeps going up probably because it is close to summer? Any input?

Well today economy is not well + will get not get better and u need to think about the future $$. U should do what u can comfortably afford with out going into debt + should always have some money in savings for unexpected emergencies, such as job layoff, medical plan increasing costs etc.

Normally, if u trade in your car you never get book value. So look at losing about $4,000 of book value. Remember when a dealer gets your car they need to make money + may not sell the car for months.

It seems u don't drive your car alot with only 32K miles, its still practically brand new and better on gas than the new xB2.

Do u really need a new larger car + debt???????That monthly payment you should have been banking/saving already before this purchase if u could comfortably afford it.

If you are young, are u contributing money towards your retirement or thinking about buying a home. These things are very important. Now is the time to think about the future. Then there maybe marriage, kids, costly college tuition. How much u will have saved when ready? Now is the time to do it if u can, not at the last minute. You will be very thankful + have less worries, especially now with our economy. I wish you well + the best with your choice.

If you sell it, you will always look back in regret. I felt that way about my VW Bug's.

I think you are making a good choice in keeping the 05 XB. On the one hand your XB is practically new with low miles and is paid off.

On the other hand as RS go the 2012 XB RS is lame especially since the 2011 had a sunroof. This year's RS gets a paint job, a SCION lower grill, and light up badging. Kinda of lame compared with the previous year's RS
