Selling experience
I recently listed my '06 xB RS 3 on Craigslist and placed a link in the classifieds on SL. There are over 200 views, and one person replied. He stated that "us" gen1 xB owners really think to much of our cars because we always have them overpriced, and then he dissed it because the color, in his words, was an "acquired" taste. He had no interest in the car, just hassling me. I reminded him that such comments area contrary to the forum rules, and unless he was interested in the car, to please keep his comments to himself. I checked back several days later and both his and my posts had been deleted.
Since then, my car sold on Craigslist for $10,500, I was asking $11k. KBB on it that same day was over $12k.
The point of this post is to remind everyone that classifieds are just that, classifieds. They are for the purpose of selling your merchandise, not an area for discussion. Also, if you believe you have your car priced such that you may get top dollar, then go for it. If you can be patient, be so. Don't settle for less unless you absolutely have to. The new owner of my car was ecstatic about his purchase. Me? I paid $10k for the car in spring of 2010, so I did well. Both parties are happy.
Just a though I wanted to share.
Happy Motoring!
