Cool DDX419 Install DIY!! SHADEZZ

Well picked up a Kenwood new touch screen today!! I went with the DDX419 because of the b/t and the hook up he gave me. I was just going to buy the DDX319 but I'll take the upgrade for $60.00!! Even the DDX319 is a great deck for the money!!

DDX319...$299.00
DDX419...$419.00 (Got it today 360.00 + tax new) Sweet Deal at Quality Audio sound Thornton, Co!!!

Install was easy as could be.....Pics should do it justice on the DIY

Stereo Bolts(4) are 10mm, same for the ground (Battery -)

(Q: How do I run DVD while I'm moving or bye pass the dvd parking brake function?....(A: Ground the parking brake wire)

Really? No. It's 300 new.

Amazon Amazon

You should always price-check before jumping into something.

You can even get it under 300 if you want it refurbished. MANY sellers for around 300 - 310.00.

It's really nice though - If I didn't have my stock Scion one, I would probably lean towards a Kenwood.

I have the older version (ddx-41 with the kna-g610 Nav unit and a rear cam. I love the HU. For the price range it can't be beat. Many options and settings. Decent power and sound quality. I only wish it would read more a/v codecs off the usb. The BT mic reception is a bit poor, but tolerable. Not sure if that's improved on the 419.

RjScion..I seen 320 was the cheapest with shipping plus still need to get the kit and wiring harness.....I'll stick with my 360 + tax for everything and get to touch and inspect unit before buying......

Buy everything from best buy?

Sweet setup. But the grills on the speakers is not necessary when mounted inside the door panel.

Good work though. Most diy installations I see in my shop don't look anywhere near as good as this does.

DDX419- Quality Auto Sound
Kicker amp 4 gauge- Best Buy
Kicker RCA's (3 sets)- Quality Auto Sound
DXI 6500- Best Buy
14 Gauge Speaker Wire(100ft)- Walmart
Alpine V60- Car Toys

As for the grills in the doors it does make a difference because the added depth along with foam surround on the inside of the door makes the sound not get lost between the two. All the other cars I've done never had the room, but scion xbs do!!!

No nav on that one I believe you can buy the external piece for it.

If you want kenwood with nav go with the dnx6190 or higher models

I have the kenwood(xxx)? 719 absolutely love it!!!! I had the top of the line Sony and hated it from day one, figured I'd get used to its 3 second wait time to respond to any command, it's retarded iPod link that always started from an album I never listen to... And I'd have to touch screen my way through whacked out prompts to play what I wanted. ( can you tell I hated my sony? The kenwood I got has a true 7" screen and the nav feature.... You download an app for 3$ and it runs off your iPhone or android. And it gets updates.... It also plays YouTube or any other video on your phone. You can control it from the touchscreen or the iPhone, connected and charging the battery or Bluetooth. As far as the Bluetooth goes, I think it's great. I am still running the mic from the Sony unit though since I stealth mounted it and it would be destructive to remove it. I'm also running jl audio sc 60's and 65's a ridiculously expensive kicker 4channel amp, don't remember the model but it's the top of the line one... They're stackable... Dark gray... I don't remember.. And a single Memphis 12 inch sub in a downward facing box. I will be adding a second 2 channel amp for the 3 12" subs I will be having but I had the Memphis laying around and was saving for my bags. Anyways, the combination is amazing... Old people are constantly rolling up their windows, my club says its too loud when I roll into the parking lot for meetings and it's clear as hell even with the mids still pumping a lil bass. Point being, kenwood is the ____, far better than the 1500$ clarion 6" I got in my prerunner.

Kenwood is the best imo thats what I am running. I have owned a little bit of everything and I am an installer so I deal with this stuff daily.

Your kicker amp is probably the ix series

Hey Shade, with the Kenwood hu, can you still retain the usb ipod connect in the center console or do you plug the ipod in the front usb on the hu?
