Default I'm thinking about putting an xB2 Trans in a tC1?

I am considering putting the xB2 Trans with the Shiftronic in my 06 tC, and I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be an easy swap, anyone disagree?

What else would I need to get, besides the shifter, wouldn't everything else on the tC work with it?

my .02 as an xB2 owner is ITS NOT WORTH IT.

The "Sport" Mode that the xB2 doesn't do virtually anything as far as performance, speed, power, and has little if any effect on mpg.

I enjoy driving my xB2 auto. It's a comfortable drive. But I have a VW too when I'm itching for some 5Spd VR6 fun

I'mo, if its an automatic just put it in drive and go! lol

Ugh, only 4 gears....nm lol. If my trans goes out ill either get rid of the car or swap to a manual.

OK, now that I'm pretty sure my Trans is about to go, I'm gonna reconsider this because I found an xB2 Trans at a really good price locally, so if anyone can answer this question, please do so:

Any idea if I would need anything besides the Trans and the shifter? Wouldn't everything else already match?

ECU's will be different. (Or should be) I can't remember if Scion/Toyota uses a separate unit for transmission control.

Theoretically... it should work...

I guess someone can correct me if I'm wrong... but...

The auto transmission from the xB2 and the tC1 are both the U241E.

However, since the xB2 has the option available for the sequential shifting... you'll need to use the xB2 ECU.

At the same time... the xB2 motor is the same as the tC1... so, you might be able to just swap the Transmission and the ECU.

However, I am not sure and to be honest I'd check with Ptuning, Dezod, Descendant, etc. before attempting this.

Thanks for the input and you're saying everything I was thinking lol. It makes sense that it would be simple, but then again, something little always causes a problem.
Luckily my Trans isn't going out and I fixed the problem I was having, but if it does ever go, I might give this a shot because to me, its not worth the money to do a manual swap.

Yeah. I had the same idea a while back but I never really followed much into doing the research.

To be honest, I foresee the biggest problem in the ECU. I don't think that the engine is the exact same. Even though it is the 2AZ-FE in both vehicles, there may be some minor differences.

Again, Dezod, Ptuning, Descedant, etc etc. would have more details as to the differences and if the stuff would actually swap over and such.

Is it manual or auto? If its a manual trans you can swap out the tC2 6speed Trans in to it.

Here's the link if for the mounts http://www.world-motorsports.com/wms...roducts_id=231 call them and talk to Rob Cardona
