ok my buddy is going to add to his setup in the form of another amp.
hes got 2 12s powered off one as of now. his plan is to have one amp power a sub of its own.

so that means sub A gets an amp and sub B gets an amp
what we need to know is how do we connect 2 amps to one head unit? special plugs?

it should go
HU>>amp(A)+sub & amp(B)+sub. but how?
any help would be awsome.
any added tips would be cool too

 

RCA Y cable is pretty much the simplest way to do it, unless the amp you have has an RCA in and out, (in from the deck out to another amp....some amps have it..some dont) but radioshack should have you covered, they even hav it in "monster cable"

yeah.....it will look like 3 female RCA plugs......get them anywhere you can get rca cables.......

 

ok so then i hook the head unit to one amp and then hook the amps together via the RCAs? or are both amps connected to the head unit?

thats if one of the amps has rca inputs and outputs

(you will need 2 of these unless you can find one that has 2 inputs and 4 outputs...thats just the first one i came across)

 

head unit====<Y plug>===both amps

have one set coming from the headunit.....the Y will turn one plug of the rca cable into 2 plugs.....
