So my car has been making a sort of tapping noise coming from the passenger's side. I popped the hood to see where it was coming from and it sounded like it was around where the belts are. I only hear it when I start the car though, lasting about 15 seconds. As the revs go down and it starts warming up it goes away but I have searched around and people who have the same noise from the exact same spot have the noise happen when warm. Regardless, they changed out the water pump and that made the noise go away. My car has no problems when driving though (no overheating or anything). I do have a CEL but that's because of my Weapon R header

Could it be the water pump?

 

its possible as 05-07 were infamous for water pump issues. and for your weapon r cel just disconnect your batt for a bit then re-connect and it'll clear it

 

Do you see pink fluid coming from the water pump? Check the weep hole. Usually it cakes up on there. If you do see this dry pinkish powder, you definitely have a bad water pump.

 

To be honest I haven't checked it much other than what I typed in the post, but I will check that stuff out. I haven't seen any type of "pool" being created from under my car by it though.

 

By the way GQQSE13, I just saw your tC on cardomain (currently viewing it actually). Pretty sick! How's the NIA rear lip diffuser thingy? I was looking to get that but wasn't too sure about it as I haven't seen many people with it and any good pics. Now that I see it on yours I think I might reconsider!

 

thanks. i love it just have to get repainted this year as the exhaust the last 3 years as discolored it. i've got quite a few pics of it from recent after i painted the undercarriage. i'll message or email you some more

 

It looks great! A few more pics would be awesome! I thought the orange on the undercarriage was reflection lol I've never seen that before. Definitely unique! You actually have a few things that I wanted to get but wasn't sure because lack of pictures, especially those side mirrors. I saw them on different cars but none on a tC until yours. They look nice!
