Default 1st Gen Oil Control Valve for XB

I was just told by garage mechanic my OCV needs replacing at $92 for the part and $90 labor. I respect mechanics who posses skills I do not have, but when searching for the part price online I see OCV for $7. What is the difference, and if I ordered the part myself could I change it in my driveway with a shadetree mechanic by my side?

Am indebted to your wisdom.

If thats the valve that controls the VVTi, I think its probably a bit more than $7, $92 doesnt seem out of line. Get the factory service manual and I'd imagine it would be a fairly easy fix for someone with a decent amount of wrenching experience.
