So I have my car on jack stands at the moment, wheels removed and the old brake pads and brake wear indicators off. I was about to fit in the new pads until I realized that I did not make note of what direction the pads need to go in. They fit in both ways, and looks like the brake wear indicator could fit on either the top or bottom.

Pretty sure that the large end of the pad should be against the outer edge of the rotor and the tapered end facing in, and that the brake wear indicators should be on top for both sides. Can anyone confirm? The last thing I want is to hit the road with my brakes upside down or brake wear indicators on the wrong ends.

 

I'm not sure myself, but heres a link to 2 DIYs regarding brake pad changes. Both have a good amount of pictures which im sure you can cross reference with to make sure you have it just right. Sorry that i am unable to give you a clear answer.

Have already seen those and other threads and YouTube videos as well...none of them clearly show or explicitly specify the placements.

 

Since our front calipers is bolted in front of our rotors, wear indicators go at the top. Also if the set of pads only have 2/4 pads that have the wear indicators. Make sure they are placed as the inner pad (pad in contact with piston).

Hope that helps. Also throw some high temp grease on the guides and brake pad tabs to reduce/eliminate any unnecessary squeaks.
