Default radio lights went out

Guys, I was driving home tonight, and I noticed that the buttons on my stock radio no longer light up... whats up with that.. i've browsed the manuals, but nothing mentions it... the only thing i've changed since i got it was the SSP setting set to xB instead of tC.. Everything else in the cabin lights up, dash, under the radio, HVAC controls, etc. just the radio buttons themselves. The main display works, which shows me the track #, or radio channel. The unit works fine. radio and cd works.

I did a search, and couldn't find anything. Any ideas??

Also, that dimmer switch.. does it control the radio brightness as well as the dash and HVAC controls? It doesn't in my tC..

so someone fill me in on two things...

1)how many people have had their stock headunit replaced due to defects covered under warranty.

2)and just to make sure... those buttons do light up right??? I saw then on one night.... i think...

1st time.. wouldn't play mp3's.. or regular cd's.. would skip.. stop playing a normal audio cd and display would go blank.. refused to eject.. eventually did
2nd time.. wouldn't eject cd's.. also skipping.. radio also couldn't pick up radio stations.. had a lot of static..
3rd time.. finally worked fine.. plays everything fine, and ejects fine.. radio fine too
