As with any dark car, scratches are gonna show up. It's always harder to keep a dark colored car looking "clean", but it's not impossible. I'd say my car looks awesome for 2 days after I wash it until the pollen gets to it. I personally love my IIP and wouldn't have chosen any other color. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it...on the car I ordered! (yup, I ordered it and prayed the color was what I wanted.) When the car is dirty, it's dirty (most people don't notice, but I do...I'm picky about my car). But when it's clean, it's CLEAN. OMG beautiful. :love: I'm sure everyone who has an IIP will agree.

Traded the Celica in for the tC. It was getting sick with multiple mechanical issues. Instead of fixing it, just bought a new car instead. :D

My one regret...not taking the Molly Designs spoiler off the car. I got like 6 requests to buy the spoiler off me. But it went with the car. :doh:

You said it exactly right. I also ordered my tC and hoped the color was as good as I had hoped. But when I finally picked it up it was even MORE beautiful than I had imagined.

I was kinda apprehensive about buying the Celica when I heard of all the problems that were happening. I was still gonna buy it, but no dealer could find me one in Spectra Blue Mica, so I got frustrated and quit looking. My friend suggested I look at the Scion tC, which hadn't been released yet, and at first I was in shock that he would even suggest that (my heart was set on the Celica), but decided to give it a chance. Needless to say, I ended up ordering the tC and I couldn't be happier. =)

I heard the same. That IIP is gone after this year.

And now with this news, I'm even happier. I didn't think that was possible. :P

desi, you speak the truth my friend. this color is, hands down, the best color offered for the tC. black cherry pearl would be a close second, but second nonetheless. although, having said that...

I also like the subaru blue. if our pearlescent blue was a bit brighter it would be better I think.

i like the other colors, but really, none of the other colors are as deep and entrancing. IIP is not really sporty, it's not really luxury-ish, it's just... beautiful lol

Hey I can't figure this out...are they eliminating the IIP or the AP for the 2k6 model? I thought it was IIP but I've read elsewhere it's the Azure??

Poor guy had a metal pipe fly through his windshield. Got it replaced but the glass guy told him not to wash the car for a week so as to let the glue cure (or some such).

it says on the website that it comes in black also, i was wondering if you have seen it? if you did. how does it look? kinda like the one in the tC RS 1.0 don't you think

I haven't seen the black, but I believe it's the same color look of the RS1... but, the mesh itself is different. The RS1 uses flat metal, the Grillcraft is stainless steel wire mesh.... the Grillcraft grille is more like the xA RS1

the lower grille and the side air dams are fully replaced... as for the upper grille, it was needed to be a fit over, because if you take off the stock upper grille there's nothing behind it to mount to.

the lower grille and the side air dams are fully replaced... as for the upper grille, it was needed to be a fit over, because if you take off the stock upper grille there's nothing behind it to mount to.

I really like this grill. Only thing wrong with it is the scion logo in the background.

I just rolled 11k miles on my TC and the blue paint is chipping all over the place. Normal highway driving. Any of my other fellow cult members having this problem?

The paint issue is common to all scions. I have 2400+ miles on my tC and the front bumper has much more wear than a 2 month old car should have.

Pretty much common for most car companies these days unfortunately. Could be worse though, I would rather have easy-to-scratch paint than paint that just flakes off like chrysler, ford and gm have had in the past!

Its ok, I havnt had the knob / top spinning issue that I heard about. However, the leather boot isnt tight against the bottom part of the shaft, it needs something about the thickness of the washer to make it fit right. But since it doesnt make noise and I like the way it looks over the leather one Im not complaining.

What I'd really like to see is somebody with this knob and a twm short shift kit, now that I've rolled 1000 miles on my first manual tranny car I think I'd like to see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah they got two more in one for someone I know and the other just cause. I think the second is an auto, but that is about it for IIP according to grapevine for this area.

I took these last week before I got the windows tinted. It looks a lot better now. I'll post new ones as soon as I instally my new headlight blubs that I won. :)

That last picture shows how close the NBM color is to my brother's RSX. This is a beautiful color! There was a RS 1.0 at the dealer when I picked it up yesterday, and truthfully, the red looked flat and boring compared to the metallic blue. I picked a winner.

That's actually not a Type S. My parents refuse to allow my brother or me to drive a stick, which makes sense because of all of the Atlanta traffic we sit in, so the Type S was not an option. The Type S has a special, different shade of blue. As to why I didn't end up with an Acura... they're more pricey and don't really offer that much more in base trim. It's equal to the tC at 160 HP and the tC actually has a little more torque. Plus, I didn't have to put up an addition $1000+ just to get 17's on my ride!

When compared to the RSX, I think the tC offers a better compromise between tight handling and comfort on crap roads; of course, the RSX's worse ride is due in part to the low-profile tires my brother got.

I really do love the look, drive, and sound of the tC though. It's great to just put down all the windows and sunroof and leave the stereo off, listening to the slight whistle as the 2.4 liter builds revs.

The background is just about a 5 minute drive up into the hills out where I live! I live right on the Urban Growth Boundry with a river about 90 feet away! No one behind my house ever, and farm land on the other side of the river! It kicks ___... just a lil longer then I like to downtown though eheh.

No one has commented on the grill? What do you think? That is a chrome metalic paint over the GG. Overlayed, and cut ever so close 'around' the emblem!

i agree - i made one, but can't seem exactly how to fit it on...don't want to take off the bumper. howd you tie yours on? It looks great, i never thought about leaving the emblem but it looks really good.

The upper one is between the honey comb grill and the chrome ring, and it was very tight. I used some painted very small zip ties to ensure it doesn't move. You can't see the zip ties from further then about 2 feet out... and even when you are close it takes a while to find them (there is just a couple).

The bottom one just cut to fit, the zip tied it down with the painted zip ties.

The zip ties are installed from the other side of the bumper to make sure the big part of the tie stays on the other side of the bumper.

Gorgeous ride! What rear lip spoiler is that? It doesn't look like the OEM. Those 19" TRDs look pretty good with the shocks and struts. Nice work.

Thanks for the nice words, and yes that is the factory lip spoiler.

I love the rims, when I first picked them out, everyone told me not to get them because they "looked just like the factory 17's" but now that they are on the car and it's lowered, everyone changed their mind pretty quick.

Sent you a pm.. I think it covered all your questions regarding what we can do with the gauges and console. I hope to hear back about whether the designs we worked out on here worked to make the center console bright without using stilts :P If not, I may just order a few sizes of surface mount resistors that should work and just using mine to test. I need more blue in mine! If I decide to dump all mod-money into performance instead of the sound system first.. I may tear apart the stereo and do those too :P

Just to give you an idea, it's a single 10 and it went 134.8 db in a SPL competition and took first place in the stock class. If people don't know it's only a 10, they think i've got 2 12's in the trunk or something.

Darker, without the pearl, or at least the pearl is not as noticeable. It looks good.. but I love the pearlescent look of the IIP.. but I am partial :P

Hey well hopefully they will still stock some IIP parts cuz what happens if we are in an accident or something, will scion still have IIP paint?

i don't think that will be a problem. from what i've seen anyone can make the paint with the paint code. but i don't know if anyone knows this but the Camry has the IIP paint on their SE (sport edition).

my GF is looking at a Camry and she notice that they had one in the same color as my tC.

All I can say is wow! It is coming along very nicely now! Nice job of keeping the fogs while adding the intercooler. And love those blue gauges :P

Dam right trdtcpr!! i see too many FM's around! Even though i own one i think IIP are a good color choice also. Dont let people like TANTALIZEDMIND try to turn u guys down or get u guys angry.
