Friend test drove my TC and curbed front bumper... opinions?

Hey everyone, a couple weeks ago I let one of my good friends I work with drive my TC on his 30min break with his girlfriend because it was her birthday that day and she wasn't having a good day. Well, he's been un-decided on getting a TC since he needs a new car soon and I've been trying to talk him into getting a TC for over a month now. His girlfriend loved the ride of the car, and the interior, and the powerful engine compared to his truck, and the moonroofs etc and he loved all that and more. Less than a week later he bought a brand new Flint Mica TC, the same color I have.
He's a responsible guy and when he came back from his break, he told me he pulled up too far and hit my bumper on the curb, and he was fully willing to pay for damages from it. I thought he tore my whole bumper off from what he was saying, but when I looked at it, you literally have to look UNDER the front bumper to see the damage, and when you do, you can see that it was obviously curbed. Only the underside of the bumper is damaged, you can't see any of it unless you actually lean over and look for it, you can barely see it from ground level looking straight at the bumper.
I haven't taken it to a shop yet because I know what the total will be because I had to get the front bumper replaced once a while ago when I hit a deer. Replacement, painting and mounting would cost right around $220 replacement bumper + 3hrs@$36/hr paint + 1hr@$40/hr removal and replacement = $368
Now, he owns a brand new Flint Mica TC that he bought BECAUSE he test drove my car and loved it, and he has the same color as I do. One night when we work together I could also just swap out our bumpers if he agrees and he can either deal with getting it fixed or leave his damaged. I could also just take it to a shop and get an estimate and show it to him and have him pay me for the damages since he'd own up to what he did. I could also just forget about it since you can't see the damage unless you're looking for it from underneath the car and it doesn't take away from appearance or performance in any way. Now I've never curbed it since I bought it over 6 months ago, but I could very well get it replaced and then end up curbing my own bumper one day, and the damage already done would still be there so it wouldn't be so hard to deal with.
Here's some pictures of the damages, it's a little hard to see because my car's so shiny (sorry lol) but you can definately notice that it is way down past the primer and actually gouged out cuts into the bumper.
I tried piecing the pictures together, and each image is 640x480 so you can right-click and save the image to your desktop and zoom in on the pictures to see more details.

Since your friend was cool, the damage is minimal and you know as soon as you get it fixed someone will run their hummer into you...
"leave the damage as is since it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it, and you'll probably curb it yourself later anyways"

I'm sure he didnt mean it! But if he is willing to pay for the damage in whatever way, then thats good! Taking responsibility! But thats rather a minimal damage, you'd probably do that in a later time. If i were u, i'd just let it be. But he gotta say SORRY. Well thats me!
At least he was nice enough to tell you that he did it. I mean he was nice enough to offer to pay for it. Honestly..it's like on the bottom part of the bumper..look how low you had to get just to take those pictures. I would just tell your friend HEY IT HAPPENS ITS OK! and move on.
Dude, where did you go to get your bumper replaced last time? I'm from MD too and I need to replace the front bumper and I got quoted $550! If you have a number / address, that would be awesome.
Thanks,

its bound to happen sooner or later. just statistics. if he is willing to pay for it or break you off some money for it, cool, or switch bumpers with him. i dont think its worth the repair costs.
You may not be able to see it, but as a new car owner, you know its there. I scratched up the bottom of my front bumper in a driveway and it really ____ed me off. Its not how little the damage is, but the experience of ruining a new car.
If he is a good friend I would just leave it alone. But I feel your pain....

It is your responsibility because you let him to drive the car in the first place. To hand the car to somebody is always a risk since nobody cares more about the car than the owner. Also, the only persons entitled to drive the car are those registered in the insurance policy. Unless he was in your policy, he was not supposed to drive your car.
I have my wife in my insurance policy, nevertheless she doesn't like to drive mine because she says that I am too picky to let it go.
Sorry for the scratches dude.

Well, since he is your friend...
You should call up a pizza place and have 5 extra large pizzas delivered to his house. Then while he is sleeping sneak in and shave his head. Then after he wakes up take a picture of him with his shaved head in his underwear and post it on the internet. Then send the picture to his mom, his boss, and his minister... Then after..
or because he sounds like a good friend and stuff happens just forget about it. We all will have curb scrapes under the front.. especially with the body kit and lowering springs :\
