I have my wife in my insurance policy, nevertheless she doesn't like to drive mine because she says that I am too picky to let it go.
don't you love it when people post ignorant responses that seem like they know what they're talking about when in reality they're so far from the truth it's funny?

you insure your car, if your sister's boyfriend's step-aunt-in-law drives your car and wrecks it, your insurance covers it. You only add registered drivers because that will modify/amplify your rate depending on their driving experiences. If a rental car rents someone a car, and the driver wrecks the car, it's not the rental car's fault for trusting the driver, you sign a contract taking responsibility. And in the state of maryland, word of mouth is contractual, and we made a verbal agreement before he drove it that he would not damage it, and he would deal with it if he did, even if it was as simple as me saying "you wreck it, you bought it" and he verbally agreed. No need to be rude about the situation, man.

But I'm going to talk to him next time I see him at work since I'm really strapped for cash and want it repaired, and he'll probably offer to switch bumper covers or either pay for damages or at least help out with them. It's been bugging the crap out of me that in 6 months there isn't a scratch on the car (aside of accident damage that was replaced) and that's the only problem.

i say swap the bumpers, you still get youre new bumper, and he lives w/the consequence of having curb a bumper... from then on, he still has the choice to repaint or not, that is entirely up to him ... but in your 'world' on your car; you have a new bumper -- no harm, no foul

Just leave it man, its only a scratch, it would be different if it was a big dent or scratch right on the main part of the bumper or if he curbed yer rims or something.

But I bet you do the same thing sometime soon

Chill winston!

bah, I say its hardly noticeable. But then again, this is coming from a guy who'd let his friend scrape of the whole side of his car and say it was alright(yeah, I know, I should care more)

I gather in OC that you'd let someone scratch/gouge your car and you'd ignore it. NOT!
Personally, I'd get it fixed and see what his buddy can afford to pay towards it - or let his insurance take care of it. Even though you can't see it from the usual angles, you know it's there, so it needs to get fixed. If you can afford to get it fixed without dinging your buddy, go for it.
