Help! Puchasing a new XB BOP '05
Ok I have talked the wife over to the scoin side of life. So I am going in this Saturday to purchase my XB. I'm getting automatic (can't drive a stick) BOP color, but this is where I need the help. I want to know what options I should get at this point. I don't want to spend a whole lot of money right now.
I am looking at currently getting the floor mats, and a cargo cover. I am torn if $665 is worth it to get the Scion spoke wheels instead of the hub caps.
What did you get with your's out of the dealer?
What else would you suggest I purchase out of the gate?
Has anyone been able to talk the dealers down on the "Destination" charge of like $500 they throw in?
Thanks for all the info,
Soon to be Scion owner - Ghst

My b/f (who works as a tech at Toyota) says "get the foglights, floormats and cargo cover, but don't bother getting the scion spoked wheels. you can get some nice bigger wheels for cheaper."
That's what I'm doing!

Depending if the rims are your style then maybe the $665 will be worth it. I didn't get them due to the fact that I'm picky about the rims I want. The options I got with my xB were the rear spoiler and floor mats. That's really all that was "worth it" to me. I suggest only the simple, not-so-pricey accesories. I mean 200 bux for cold cathodes...c'mon now!
I didn't get a thing with mine. I found the floor mats, cargo cover, window visors, strut bar, springs & rims online. If you have the cash, it's cheaper that way, because it's not financed in the price of the car and they are generally much less than if you got them from the dealer.
all i got when i ordered mine was the spoiler and the pedal covers, BOP w/manual trans and 7-spoke bB hubcaps. everything is WAAAYY over priced and most aftermarket stuff for the xB is way better than toyotas offerings and also a LOT cheaper
go for the sunroof and foglights. Anything else can be done cheaper on the side (wish I would have known that)
I also picked up the LEDs, Floormats, spoiler, exhaust tip
What I still want
sunroof
shocks
rims
better speakers

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I think fog lights and Cargo Cover are two good options for now. The sun roof is 1300 and I think they just pimp that out to a aftermarket place not sure though.
cargo cover is really a useless accessory to a lot of people, myself included. if you must have the cover and mats, get them elsewhere. the foglights at the dealer is ok cause it only increases your monthly payment by like $10 or something
the factory alloys are overpriced imo, you can get better looking wheels for cheaper almost anywhere else.
Congrats on your new car!

My BOP I got the TRD Springs, Rear Spoiler, and my dealer parts dept ordered my rims from Tire Rack. Could I have saved money by ordering online, YES! Could I have added it to my financing that way, NOPE.
So basically, if you can afford to add mods after the purchase, do so. If you need to finance it, get them from the dealer.

The nice thing about Scion is their accessory selection. I ordered the black sand pearl with the spoiler, fog lights, 6disc changer, floor mats, bumper applique, I got the cooler and the TRD exhaust, and chrome shifter. I have already ordered my stereo system upgrade from Crutchfield.... wheels I cant decide on. I hate to throw away the perfectly good Goodyear tires but a bigger setup looks good. I have found cheaper wheels online and my local NTB dealer is also a good way to go. I am learning that Scion folks really love their cars and have great ideas they dont mind sharing. I have chatted with many folks who are always helpful and friendly. There are exceptions but overall...a great group of owners. Sciontifically speaking....
