Default tacho question....not sooo redundant...

I have been searching the forums and found that information regarding Apexi RSMs and aftermarket Tacho installs are hard to find. Yes, all scions have Tachos, but some ( XA's) have them in the most absurd places (in regards to spirited driving). Is there someone with some experience on the subject who could post a straight forward procedure for the location of the necessary wires ( Tach signal, 12v power, parkinglight switch, etc..), perhaps with info for all three scion models. It would save unecessary posting by many, and I'm sure a ton of people would benefit.

tach signal wire is black with red stripe i believe, goes into the back of the tach cluster etc.. you can test this by touching each wire with a testlight, and look for teh pulsing signal..

power.. that's ur call.. pick what you like..

lighting... parking light circuit is a green wire, no stripe. if you wanted to dim your new lights, you'll have to find the negative dimmer wire, i believe it's white with black stripe, you can trace it from any of the instrument lights in the dash.

this should stand for all toyota models, as they are pretty universal on their colors.

Thanks, tach works great, I would warn people AGAINST any attempt to use OBD II as it will not work, there has been alot of misinformation on theis subject but the above has proven to be the only accurate account....
Thanks all.
