Default xA - Noise coming from behind speedo/instrument panel??

Does anyone else have this problem? It sounds like a winding spring or something. It's constant, but only irritating if you have the music off.

I'm going to take it to Toyota, but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has this problem so I'll avoid the "We can't hear anything" response from the dealer.

Thanks.

I had a strange sound too on my xB that kind of sounded like it was coming from underneath my dash. I just thought I hit a bump really hard lol

The noise started just after I bought it, and I haven't rolled over any huge bumps, etc., I just think there's something loose up behind or under the speedo cluster.

It seems like every time I bring in a car for warranty repair the dealer just says that it's normal for that car to do that or something along those lines.

So, if someone has the same slight winding sound going on, please give me some details so I'll have more to go on when I take it to the dealer.

It seems all the Scions have rattles, etc., but what do you expect from such a cheap lil car, you know?
