My girlfriend wants to get a the billet grille for her XB. I found one on ebay for $110 plus 9 bucks shipping.

My question is how do they install onto the Xb? I can't be bolt over, because the factory xb grille is like one peice.

Any reccomenditions on whats a good grille to buy?

Or has anyone put after market billet grilles on there xb?

Thanks - Vance

I believe the 3 piece grille on eBay installs with zip ties. I think it actually tells you that on the page description. If it is the same one I read.

Probably why it is inexpensive.

Most of our grilles (unless otherwise noted) install directly over your existing grille with nylon tie straps, with no modification to your vehicle. The nylon tie straps we use have a tensile strength of 50 pounds each. The grilles weigh 2 to 6 pounds each. The nylon tie straps won’t rust or break.

im sorry for the picture

My grills are tied with zip ties but you can barely see them because they are tied from the inside of the grills

I have a 3 piece billet grill. The top main grill installed with "L" brackets and sheetmetal screws after the original was removed. The bottom one installed over the existing grill with small metal bars that basically sandwiches the original grill between it.(easiest to install) And the middle is the most difficult because it requires the removal of whole front bumper, but even that was not that difficult. Lots of polished metal up front that may be to much for some people, but I like it.

Another good brand of billet is B-Cool Billets. I have seen one on a guys box that lives here in the Valley and Its been the best looking one I've seen so far. I still have yet to see a STULL but I've heard some good stuff about that one too.

Mine are made by Putco. Top grille replaces the factory plastic grille completely mounting into the headlights (where the stock grille fits) and to the upper tie bar. Both bottom grilles are held in by studs that go through the honeycomb and are held in by wing nuts.

They look really good and I get compliments all the time. Currently I'm working hard on a deal to sell them. Price will likely be around $400 for the set. Not cheap, but not crap either. I refuse to sell crap quality parts.

I have the Ebay grilles that fasten on with tie-wraps and am very happy with them. I have started making mounting brackets for them but the tie-wraps are more than substanstial untill I get the brackets finished . The top grille replaces the original plastic grille. The bottom two tie on over the original egg-crate grilles. You can see them installed on my profile page.

I like the brushed aluminum look so I went and got that 3 piece of of ebay. It fits but you do have to use zip ties. I custom make alot of things and fabricated brackets for them and tack welded them on. No zip ties all mounts flush and I love it. The zip tie thing does suck but the look is good.
