how does high compression engines make hp from compression alone and every thing else like left stock or what ever???

Now that is an easy question.

 

the higher the compressions the more fuel and air into a smaller space , so when it ignite a harder push down onto the piston , harder push equals more power.

 

i know the higher the compression the higher octane you need to run

 

yes , which is why if you have forced induction you also need higher octane.

and lower compression so you don't blow a head gasket or some thing like that

 

the lower comp is basically so you can cram even more crap into the same cylinder

 

except they consume oil like no other and hate to be smogged after say 8 years.

but they hate to be smogged to begin with, thats why we see so few.
but still, they are pretty cool

 

i'd take a second gen fc rx-7 turbo II over an rx-8 any day. the rx-8 is sooo slow. I hated driving it. we got a fairly long test drive too , like 30 miles or so . not my taste. I did however LOVE the interior
